On the right are two chromosome pairs, each pair containing different genes. At times, a crossover event can occur where chromatin material is transferred between members of different pairs. This is a rare event. Nevertheless, it does occur and if you flip to the next card you will see the result of such a translocation where the breaks occurred at the arrows. Flip to the next card.
